1. Who We Are

Red Thread Society is a true-crime mystery mobile game published by Whitney Estep ("we," "us," or "our"). For privacy-related questions, contact us at whitneybe22@gmail.com.

2. Information We Collect

We designed Red Thread Society to collect as little personal data as possible. Here is what the app stores and why:

• Game progress & state — your solved cases, coin balance, detective rank, and clue progress are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
• Purchase receipts — if you subscribe to Red Thread Premium, Apple processes the payment and shares an anonymous transaction record with our subscription management provider (RevenueCat) to verify your entitlement. We do not store or see your payment card details.

We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, or any other personal information.

3. How We Use Information

• To validate your active subscription and unlock premium content.
• To restore your purchases if you reinstall the app or switch devices.
• To respond to support requests you send us directly by email.

4. Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party providers that may process limited data:

• Apple App Store (payments) — processes all in-app purchases and subscriptions. Apple's privacy policy governs payment data. See apple.com/legal/privacy.
• RevenueCat (subscription management) — receives an anonymous device identifier and Apple purchase receipts to manage your subscription entitlement. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or payment details. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
• Expo / Expo Application Services — the development and build platform used to create this app. May collect anonymous crash reports and diagnostic data. See expo.dev/privacy.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your game data is stored locally on your device and protected by your device's own security features. No personal data is transmitted to or stored on our servers. Subscription status is managed securely by Apple and RevenueCat over encrypted HTTPS connections.

6. Your Rights

Because we do not collect personal data directly, there is nothing stored on our end to access, correct, or delete. If you wish to remove your game data, simply uninstall the app from your device. For subscription cancellation, use your Apple ID settings.

7. Children

Red Thread Society contains mature true-crime content and is intended for users aged 17 and older, consistent with its App Store rating. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 17. If you believe a minor has used the app, please contact us at whitneybe22@gmail.com.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

9. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the applicable courts of the United States.
